Ula Katsoulis (LMT, CST) specializes in Visceral Manipulation and Craniosacral Therapy. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist in New York and Pennsylvania. She has been practicing and refining her skills as a manual therapy practitioner since 1994. After six years as a Five Element Shiatsu therapist, she attended the Swedish Institute in New York City, where she studied massage therapy, anatomy, pathology, and neurology.
Ula’s explorations into holistic healing and transformative bodywork led her to study with the Upledger Institute, internationally known for its pioneering work in Craniosacral Therapy as developed by Dr. John Upledger, D.O. Her awe at Craniosacral Therapy’s outstanding clinical results propelled her decision to become certified in its techniques and to dedicate her practice to this dynamic manual therapy. She has furthered her therapeutic skills by becoming adept at Visceral Manipulation, a treatment created by French osteopath Dr. Jean-Pierre Barral. She uses these two cutting-edge manual holistic therapies on their own or in tandem with superb results, depending on the client’s needs.
Ula listens closely and without judgment to her clients’ stories in order to customize a treatment plan for the whole person. She is fully present with her patients and believes in developing strong client relationships that facilitate understanding and healing. With nearly two decades of experience in the healing arts, she believes deeply in the body’s ability to cure itself.
Ula is currently involved in the study and practice of Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) with The Chikly Institute ( www. chiklyinstitute.org), founded by Bruno Chikly, M.D.
Lymph Drainage Therapy is a gentle approach that moves the lymph fluid, which acts as a cellular waste disposal system for the body’s immune and circulatory systems. It’s ideal for inflammation, infections, edema, postoperative healing and more.
The triad of Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, and Lymph Drainage Therapy are cutting-edge modalities that are gentle, safe, and effective for all ages.
She uses these manual therapies on their own or in tandem with each other with superb results, customizing each treatment according to the client’s needs.
