Blog Post #2: ” How to Manifest Health In Your Life”
Second in a Five Part Series: ” Massage Yourself in Those Tight Spots”
We all get sore, from sitting in our chairs in front of a laptop with hunched shoulders, to wearing a heavy backpack or from an intense workout to anything in between.
In this tip, I’ll explain how to give yourself self care by massaging tight, sore spots in the body.
How to: Choose an essential oil you like, such as lavender for example, and a carrier oil, like grapeseed oil for example. These products can be purchased at a health food store or online. I use the Oshadi brand for essential oils , and NOW for grapeseed oil. You can also use sweet almond oil and jojoba oils as carriers. Experiment with various oils.
Put 4 drops of the essential oil in a 1/4oz. bottle. Squeeze a few drops into your palm, and use your fingers to pick up the oil.
Massage your temples, using gentle, circular movements with your fingertips. This will relax your nervous system, as you inhale the essential oil. Massaging the temples is also great for tension headaches.
Move on to massaging the back of your neck, shoulders, ankle joints, anywhere your body is holding not so secret points of tension. Doing this for a few minutes feels so good!
Benefits: helps to relieve: muscle spasms, pain, tension, stress and aids relaxation from a long day.
Take Action: I recommend doing a daily self massage for a few minutes and building it up to 15 minutes for persistent stiffness and stress. You can do this before you bathe or go to sleep for maximum relaxation and rejuvenation.
