Learn About The Craniosacral Systemimage – morguefile

It doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman or child. Everyone experiences some level of stress or strain in their life. It is simply human nature to become overwhelmed by certain situations – some days worse than others. People are not superheroes! We have limitations, physically and mentally, and this is why stress and tension can take such a toll on our bodies.

Ula Katsoulis is a therapist at Stillpoint Hollistic Studios who understands the ways in which the body overexerts itself to cope with life’s everyday stresses. However, she also knows the body has a lot more power than we realize to bounce back from all that tension.

This is why Ula is not your typical therapist; she is a craniosacral therapist in Philadelphia who focuses on the craniosacral system to promote your body’s natural health and wellness. In this post, you will learn about what the craniosacral system is and why this type of therapy is important for your body’s wellbeing.

A Philadelphia Craniosacral Therapist With Answers

By now you must be wondering what the craniosacral system has to do with your stress. The craniosacral system is comprised of three things:

-bones
-membranes
-cerebral fluid

Each of these surrounds the brain, spinal cord and sacrum. As part of the craniosacral system, they nourish, support and protect your brain and spinal cord so your brain can send the correct messages to your body and vice versa. However, if your cerebral fluid is blocked along the spine, it can’t move, and your central nervous system gets out of whack, causing pain in your body.

Here’s a step-by-step of how craniosacral therapy (CST) works with the craniosacral system to relieve that pain:

-Your brain sits in cerebrospinal fluid, which helps protect it from injury.
-CST helps the fluid travel down the spine to your sacrum and back up again.
-Throughout this process, your body is cleared of unwanted toxins.
-The process goes through 6-9 cycles per minute.
-Throughout the process, your body will release physical tension and pain caused by stress.

A Philadelphia craniosacral therapist like Ula will work directly with your craniosacral system by using gentle manual techniques to coax your body back to normal.
