1. When it’s time to rest, REST.
Before you max out your energy and feel depleted, take a breather for 5-10 minutes.
Walk away from the project at hand, and sit or lay quietly with your eyes closed, resting your mind and body. You will feel rejuvenated without drinking afternoon coffee!
2.Stretch often.
Stretching can be done anytime, anywhere, so do it when you feel tight and inflexible, as much as you’d like. It’s helpful to do it in the morning to relax and energize the muscles as you gear up for the day.Stretching after work is helpful to remove unwanted points of tension in the body.
3. Take a music break.
Listening to music soothes or energizes the nervous system, depending on your tastes and mood. Putting on the headphones for a few minutes can give you a respite and a pleasurable rush of endorphins filling your body and mind.
4. Set the emotions free.
If you feel like crying, cry. If you feel angry, let it out. If you are happy, show it. Emotions are energy in motion: they need to move and disperse so we can get on with our lives. If they are not expressed, they get stored in the body’s organs, and set the stage for disease.
5. Give and receive touch.
Give a hug, a handshake, a pat on the back and receive the same. Touch sends positive messages of connection to the giver and receiver, and that always feels good!
